Question for those who saw "Joseph" '83-'87

I'm a fan and theater collector looking to assemble all the lyrics for songs in "Joseph" in order for my personal archive.

According to my research, from 1983-87, the UK tour produced by Bill Kenwright (a perennial favorite, if reviews are to be believed) included an additional number called "I Don't Think I'm Wanted Back at Home." Sung by the title character, the brothers jokingly throw Joseph out of the family home, throwing a number of props at the lone Joseph who is seen in a spotlight--first a suitcase, then a cane and top hat, leaving our hero to tap-dance his way to the end of the number.

I already have the lyrics on tap, but what I need to know is where in the show the song fell so I can slot it into the right spot. I figured I'd ask here at Tanith's site because it's widely regarded as one of the best "Joseph" resources online, particularly when the Kenwright tour is concerned. Did anyone here see the show during that time period, and more importantly, can they tell me where the song fit?

Hmm well I would of seen the show then but I was only a child so can not remember that one! I'll ask around for you though as I have contacts from the show back then. In the meantime maybe one of the fan's will remember it. At a guess tho it would of been just before they sold Joseph as a slave.

Yes i can remember seeing the show with this in - not sure if it was during the time you stated but i saw the show while it was on in Jersey & they put that number in.

I will have a think and rack my brains and let you know as soon as i can remember, the thing is i can picture it so clearly!!!!!

I remember the song too........just got my crate of programmes out and it's not in the 1984, 1986 or 1987 ones! Just can't picture who I saw singing and dancing through the number.

Its gonna bug me now, so hopefully someone will come up trumps!

It was definitely a better addition to the show than "King of my Heart"!!!

Hi went to see Joseph in Oxord New theatre and thought it was amazing i thought that Kevin Grogan was really good at Benjamin and i just wanted to know what days and times he will be performing in Birmingham hippodrome. Thank you
