We had a great time seeing Dean in We Will Rock You on Saturday. When we got to the theatre there was only one seat left & the clerk said that a man had been in with a ticket to sell but he didn't know where he'd gone, then he said we could sit in a box but it was restricted so we thought we'd give it a go. It wasn't very high up so we were pleased about that & the viewing wasn't bad, though we could see more if we leaned forwards. We wondered if Dean would be in the ensemble but he wasn't, though he said he was a policeman near the beginning of the show. He didn't come on as rebel leader till well into the first half of the show. He was very good - he wore a very long blond wig & spoke with a very strong Welsh accent. All the cast were very good. Jonathan Wilkes played Kashoggi - he had a grey wig & dark glasses & looked just like Alex in London. Kevin Kennedy was Pop & we were surprised at how well he could sing. Brenda Edwards was the Killer Queen - she has a very powerful voice. Sarah French-Ellis was Scaramouch - we've seen her play the role in London & she was Columbia in Rocky Horror with Richard. The audience were very appreciative & nearly everyone stood up before the end.
Dean told us that he thought we were there, even though he didn't know we were going & hadn't seen us, because the sound guy had overheard two people talking about him & he thought they would be us, so we found that a bit freaky!!! He has short hair & no beard & looks very handsome & younger. He likes being in one place for a few weeks & doing less shows. He said some of the cast don't like doing 2 shows in a day but for him it's easy compared to 3 Jo's. The cast get four weeks holiday & Dean is having 2 weeks off from 17-29 August.

We went to see Dean on his last day in Sunderland. When we went to get tickets we were told there were only standing seats left, then they decided there were some restricted view on the ends of the first 2 rows or at the back but they said there were big speakers at the sides of the stage as well. We decided to take a chance on the front row & the speakers were very big but the seats weren't bad as most of the action is at the front of the stage. We only missed seeing some of the ensemble & I couldn't see the video wall at the back very well or the hospital scene. We were very close to the stage as the orchestra weren't there & it was great to see Dean so close. Brenda, who plays Killer Queen, was on holiday, so Ashley Russell, who was on the Nancy programme, played her part & did it well. Michael Jackson was mentioned in the list of "princes & rebels" who died young. Ben Elton had told them on Friday to put him in. Dean said he was looking forward to going to Birmingham as he hasn't performed at the Hippodrome before

Dean is doing brilliantly in WWRY.... lets not mention that im up to double figuers already.... :s hoping to see it in Birmingham in the next couple of weeks, so excited for that I think Lynda is going tomorrow (?) have a good time, i hope you enjoy it, I know i've spoken to you about it a few times!!! But the cast are brilliant, especially Dean (not that i'm biased) but Alex and Sarah (Galileo and Scaramouche) are fantastic too!

We have been to Birmingham to see Dean as Pop. We couldn't get seats together which we weren't surprised about but we got good single seats near the front of the stalls. We asked if we could sit in a box but they said we'd have to pay for 3 seats which we thought was a bit much. The show was captioned which was interesting & it showed Dean's name when they announced that he was Pop. Dean was fab but he was only on for 4 minutes at the beginning of the first half. He came on 2 hours later in the second half & was in it a lot & it was great to hear him sing "These are the days of our lives" & he acted the role well. Ashley was on as Killer Queen & she was great too. The guy who played Dean's usual role of Rebel Leader was quite scary looking. Dean is playing Pop this week too
