I'm looking for advice please...
Hubby has reluctantly agreed to take me to see a show in WE for my birthday next year. I'm thinking of either Wicked or Hairspray but all ideas gratefully received.

Apart from the obvious choice, and I havent seen the two you mention. If you want laugh a minute and come out with the jaw ache, then its Spamalot everytime, and you dont have to be a fan of Monty Python to enjoy it. That is where I would force my Husband to go and he hates theatre with avengence. 2nd choice would be Chicago, nice bit of theatre for you, sexy women for him.

Elton to join Lloyd Webber for Phantom sequel Published Wednesday 9 April 2008 at 12:15 by Alistair Smith The Stage
Exclusive: Andrew Lloyd Webber has reunited with Ben Elton on the sequel to The Phantom of the Opera.
Ben Elton Photo: BBC Elton, who is best known for his work on Blackadder, wrote the book and lyrics for Lloyd Webber’s 2000 production The Beautiful Game and has also written the books for We Will Rock You and Tonight’s the Night.
It is understood that he will have a book writing credit on the Phantom sequel, for which The Little Mermaid lyricist Glen Slater will supply the words and Lloyd Webber the music. Lloyd Webber had reportedly been working with Frederick Forsyth on the book in the early stages of the show’s development.
A spokesman confirmed: “Yes, Ben Elton is the book writer - he has done the synopsis for the story. However, Glen Slater will be writing the lyrics.”
No date has been set for the production, which is in development. Hairspray director Jack O’Brien is lined up to direct
