What Tan forgets to mention is she only comes over to UK once a year and she wanted to see Lee in another role apart from Pharoah in Joseph so I had to sit through Phantom of the Opera with her *groan. I had already seen it with Season a few months previously just to see Lee in the ensemble in his various roles. We had met up with him both before and after the show. ;)so that was nice. Towards the end of Phantom, a policeman stands behind the conductor facing the audience, during this part of the show, Lee (who was the policeman) turned to us and doffed his police hat. It always makes you feel special when something like that happens in the show. At the finale when Lee took a bow, I let out a whoop whoop for Lee, and he said when we met him at the stage door afterwards that he mentally punched the air and said to himself "Yes" Nowadays look at all the recognition he gets from the audience. So different from the 1 or 2 stage doorers. Tan and I had informed ex casts of Joseph to meet in Leicester Square at a specific bar. Lee was the only one to turn up, apparently there a a few bars with the same name, so some had gone elsewhere. Earlier we had said to him would he return to Joseph as the regulars missed him. He said only if he could play Joseph, we also asked if he wanted a webite, and he said no not until he was famous and had a good CV. Well I reckon because of all that, Tanith , being the Joseph website Queen (a title she has held for a few years now) sprinkled her magic fairy dust over him, and he became one of west End's favourite leads. Thats my theory anyway. He was meant to be Joseph for 2007. I have noticed Women swooning over his long curly hair, makes me wonder how far he would have got if he had kept it his usual short style. That is not to detract from his singing and acting ability, I am his oldest most loyal fan after all. I am also suprised that he keeps in touch, when other ex Joe casts have disappeared into thin air. There is a lesson to be learned there. This christmas we are seeing Richard Meek, he was a fabulous Joseph so who knows what Tanith's fairy dust will do to him. Hope you enjoyed the christmas memory. Lynda xx
