A snipet in today's Daily Mail - Fri 19th September :
Lee Meed - who leaves Joseph at the Adelphi in January to prepare to tour in Jesus Christ Superstar, which Marianne Elliott, one of the best in the business, is directing. Gethin Jones from Blue Peter & Strickly Come Dancing, is replacing Mead - and rehursing madly
I love the show of Jesus Christ Superstar & did her rumours it was touring next year - sounds like one we have to watch out for now.

There has been rumours of Lee doing the JCS tour now for over a week (put something on myself on this board not long ago). As to how true it is, i have no idea as to if its true, there is nothing on Lee's website or ALW's as for Gethin Jones as Jo again its been mentioned that Zak from High School Musical is taking over so who knows!!
Won't believe any of it till the official sites say its true - but thanks for the heads up xx

Mead Tours in Superstar, Jones Takes Dreamcoat??? Date: 19 September 2008
Unconfirmed reports are circulating that Any Dream Will Do winner Lee Mead will follow up his role as Joseph by starring in a Marianne Elliott-helmed tour of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s other biblical musical, Jesus Christ Superstar. And, according to today’s Daily Mail, inheriting his dreamcoat at the Adelphi theatre will be former Blue Peter presenter and Strictly Come Dancing star Gethin Jones.
Mead, already a professional performer prior to becoming a household name on the BBC’s Any Dream Will Do, has been performing the title role in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat since the production opened at the Adelphi on 17 July 2007 (previews from 6 July). As previously reported, he will step down on 10 January 2009 (See News, 18 Jul 2008).
If the Jesus Christ Superstar rumours prove correct, it will be the first major revival since its 1997 run at the Lyceum theatre which starred Steve Balsamo in the title role. Marianne Elliott is perhaps a surprise candidate to direct, being primarily known for her productions of ‘straight’ plays including War Horse Saint Joan and Harper Regan at the NT, and As You Like it and Much Ado About Nothing for the Manchester Royal Exchange, of which she is a former joint artistic director.
Mead’s potential replacement as Joseph, 30-year old Gethin Jones, is a former bank clerk who presented a variety of Welsh children’s TV programmes before landing the job as a Blue Peter presenter in 2005. In 2007 he came third in the BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing series, and later that year appeared in the show’s Christmas special. If he does don the dreamcoat, it will mark his professional theatre debut.

I saw it for the first and last time in 2004, It followed Joseph's 6 week run at the BHam Hippodrome. Cant rememebr who was in it, as I hated it but David Steadman was conducting.
