Saw Les Mis yesterday with the new cast
Alistair was outstanding as Marius, he really acts the songs, is a very cute young man in love. He had me in tears twice, once during empty chairs and empty tables. Perfect for the part.
Antony is the student Feuilly and ensemble so we had him in various roles. Go see him in a smock!!!!! He grabs your eye all the time. Glad to see he has kept his sideburns, cant believe he is still only 19. The boys are on stage together quite a lot. When singing the colours of the flag, I very nearly added, red and yellow and green and brown.....
Mark Dugdale was on holiday. He his back today.
Earl Carpenter was his usual fab self. Met him yesterday for the first. What a charming person. I look forward to seeing him in the same role on the touring version. George Miller is still in the cast
new master of the house is Martin Ball who I recognised as being the father in the last tour of Mary Poppins .
Very emotional powerful show. ;D ;D
There are some new posters on the walls of the theatre inside and out showing the current cast.

Lovely review i think you have said it all. I have now seen the show about 10 times off the top of my head with the London show & when it toured a while back now and i do have to say that y'days performance that both Lynda & I watched was the best i have ever seen. There was something about the show and i was able to understand it more and i know this sounds funny but when listening to some of the words in the songs i realised what they meant - ok who's laughing? I did cry in a few places but that was more of a personal reason more than anything but at the end i did see a few people brushing their eyes , so i wasn't the only one It was great seeing Alister & Anthony again and George was lovely and although they wanted to get away for a bite to eat they didn't rush and we had pics taken so thanks boys. Not sure when i am going to the show next, i know a friend of mine would like to see it around her birthday time so perhaps in November but if not definatly in the new year. If you get a chance to see the boys go because you won't be disappointed. Christine PS the only thing i didn't like y'day was that it took me about an hour to find a space for the car & how many road closures are in London - seems like the roads i wanted were & took ages getting out again .
