Went to London yesterday, had a few hours to kill before I saw Voice of Tomorrow, the talent show. I was there to support Gavin James Burke.
After visiting Camden Market and Lock (which is more for 18-30 year olds) Season and I had something to eat, then went to our respective shows.
I met Gavin at the stage door of Bloomsbury theatre, had a chat and a few pics taken. He looking splendid all ready to go on stage and me with my been out all day wurzel gummidge hair. Then went to my middle of the front row seat. Lovely little theatre, with low stage.
Antony Costa from Blue was hosting.
VOT is a showcase of up and coming talent creating a unique experience for some really great performers who have yet to have their moment.
The cast perform in front of a distinguished panel of judges and invited guests.
The show is only on for 3 nights and every night the audience get to vote for their fav performance using latest in digital technology handsets.
The overall winner getting the change for west end stardom with a guaranteed sign up with top west end agency Grantham Hazeldine
The cast were very very talented without exception. Obviously I voted for Gavin, who is still as lovely as ever and I adore his tenor voice. He had me in tears during his first song, it was so good to hear him again ;D ;D ;D
The VOT members and ensemble did songs from the shows, some I didn’t recognise, as even I haven’t seen them all .
I felt the judges were harsh to some acts.
On Thursday Claire Sweeney was full of praise for Gavin which must have made his mum and dad sitting in their seats even more proud of him.
Gavin’s rendition of Maria from West Side Story was out of this world.
The show was 3 hrs long so I had to leave about 10 mins before the end to catch my pre booked train. I really should stay over but I would need to take so much stuff with me I much refer to go home.
Hi to Chez and Louise who were sitting next to me. Also hello to Aaron who introduced himself as a friend of Gavin’s from one of the cruise ships.
Matthew and Raff in the ensemble were outstanding too.
I did spot a Male Blonde Totty, who would be a very nice new young cute Joseph, going by the name of David Ribi.
Thanks to Gavin for great performances. Hopefully see you on a west end stage very soon.
