Kenwright has yet another hit on his hands. Dreamboats and Petticoats is another smile all the way thru show. ;D Teenage angst, amongst rock and roll songs from 1950/60's Wayne Smith as Ray, was exceedingly good, even wearing a red scarf and pretending to be a lady (like a brother in Joseph usually the Baker)He moves and sings very well and and we all know he is a great performer. The main guys are Wayne (Ray), Josh Capper (Bobby), he reminded me of Ryan in Jersey Boys, a part he could well go on to do. Jonathan Bremner (Norman) very like Billy Fury, and he would make an excellent Pharoah. He was also on The X Factor and was down to the final 7 with Sharon, Simon Cowell said he reminded him of a young Harry Connick Junior or Michael Buble. The songs and sayings were a bit of nostalgia for me. The house looked full. One of the girls was a screecher. Show only opened on monday so there were a few tiny mishaps but well covered. Funny scene in the tunnel of love where 2 Elvis lookalikey's with angel wings are pushing the boats. The musicians were a huge part of the show. A 60 something couple rock and rolled right in front of my seat, at the end when audience were asked to dance. They were in their element. They even did the twist. I would definately go see it again. Saw Richard and Marie (Joe fans) at the stage door. Worth a visit if its in a town near you.

What a brilliant show this is - I loved every minute of it. All the songs took me back to my youth & the girls dresses were lovely - full skirts & frilly petticoats. Seeing Wayne in the show was an added bonus - he was in it a lot & sang & acted well. He sang Bobby's girl, like a lady wearing a red scarf & kept playing ping pong & they all did the hand jive from Joseph. He did a good twist at the end when we were asked to get up & dance. A lot of the cast played their own instruments which we liked. Francesca Jackson from the "Nancy" show played the "baddie". I would love to see the show again too.

saw it again yesterday and loved it. Jonathan wasnt on as Norman as he is ill. Glen Joseph as cover did a really good job, thoroughly enjoyable.
The show is in Wolverhampton til Saturday and next week in Milton Keynes. Waynes leaves at the end of MK as he will be the lead, Neil Sedaka, in Laughter in the Rain, Opening in March.
