Well I must be a right old misery, cos I didnt like Chitty.
The best bit for me was "The Old Bamboo" dance routine and when all the live fluffy dogs ran across the stage and back again.

I just found it incredibly boring and long winded, not enough happy clappy for me. i never liked the film either.
As I say often each to their own.

I'm seeing it on the 30th August! Me and mum had abit of a disagreement as i wanted to see Brian Conley as Caractacus Potts but she wanted to see Gary Wilmot! So she won! But we'll see Briand Conley in panto! LOL wiht Peter Robbins and Nigel Ellacott as The Ugly Sisters! (Lee has worked with them in panto a few yrs back!)
Also theres a guy in it called Mark Willshire in Chitty! I worked with him in Carousel at The Alexandra Theatre ;D He was also in the international tour of Mamma Mia - he played Eddie! LOL

Just saw Chitty and thought it was amazing. I really enjoyed it. I went in there not wanting to be there, but after soon came round to it. It possibily helped that i was laughing at Mark and the comment Lee had made about him and his rear. LMAO!
I thought Gary Willmot was superb. The children were ok. The woman who played the baroness - oh my lord she was hilarious. And the bloke who played the baron Oh My Gosh - i swear i'm similar to him! LOL I could ssooo see myself in the baron LMAO! Gary Wilmott is ssoo friendly and so down-to-eath. Alvin Stardust was great - for the short time he was on - i think maybe they could of done more with the childcatcher but hey who am i to say these things. I have a saying those who cant/wont do shows shouldn't throw stones. Sure we all have our opinions but i just dont think we should critise people's acting or singing abilities unless we, ourselves are ready to be critised.
But all-in-all IMHO it's a fabulous show great for the childs (as well as teens and adults) I would highly recommend it to absolutely everyone. My only regret is that i've only seen it once since it came to Birmingham last month!!

Chitty has now finished here in Brum.
It had a very successful run during its ten weeks at the Hippodrome. Glad to know my one ticket added to the success. 125,000 people saw it.
Keep theatre alive and kicking. ;D
