We have been to see Chitty to see what H was like as the childcatcher. We thought he was very good, very unrecognisable & very scary (from our front row seats). Matt Baker was Caractacus Potts & he was on stage most of the time. We were very impressed with his acting, singing & dancing. He did a back flip & cartwheel & was very energetic in "The Old Bamboo" song. He was also in the panto that Rob McVeigh was in & we thought he was good in that. We'd forgotton that Andrew Corcoran (ex Jo keyboardist) was in the band so it was nice to have a chat to him & he remembered that we lived not far away even though we haven't seen him for nearly 2 years!!

I have just come back from seeing 'Chitty' and wow what a great show it was. The last time i went to the theatre was over 6 months ago (due to ill health and other commitments and lack of money ) but after seeing an E Mail saying about all stall tickets just £20 i made my mind up and decided to go for the offer and go with my mum. I had seen this show back last year when i was on holiday in the Plymouth area with friends & enjoyed it then, but they had revamped the show. The 2 main children were brilliant and although there wasn't anyone famous in the show, the audienced loved it. I think the show had been in Southampton for too long as there were a lot of empty seats which i bet the cast found dishearting but that didn't stop them from putting a great show on. The sets were just as brill as last time (even though i had heard the the show had been re-vamped) and as for 'Chitty' ..............yep he does fly although not into the audience. Near us we had some young children & their faces were a picture when 'Chitty' flew and the applause was fantasic. It was great seeing a 'show' again and i have now realised how much i have missed the theatre so going to try & get to go on a regular basis again. If anyone loves 'Chitty' as a 'film' then try & get to see the show version and you will love it & yes people were singing along to the numbers not only during the show but while walking to their cars as well. Hope this is ok, been ages since i done a review lol Christine x

Yes he was good, i reconised the voice but didn't realise it was him until after.
Shame he only came on a short while though as the 'child catcher' i am sure that part was a lot 'bigger' in London, but perhaps i am wrong.
Oh there were a couple of people in the audience in front of us who must of been friends of Dean cos when he took his bow they jumped up out of their seats and applauded.
The show finishes in Southampton on Sat but then going onto Manchester then onto Edinburgh, then Hulll, Liverpool, Dublin and Eastbourne.
