Saw Footloose today at Birmingham Hippodrome. Loved it. Lots of very energetic dancing, quite balletic in places, Very loud too so I couldnt quite make out all the words to the songs but it didnt really matter. Liked the scene where "I need a Hero" is sung, 5 young men reminiscent of YMCA by Village people, dressed as heroes. Man in sailor suit showing his bare chest, and fireman without his shirt on. Reminded me of Whistle down the Wind and Joseph in places , was also quite emotional and a few tears sprung into my eyes. A most enthusiastic fabulous cast. Quite fancy seeing it again. We have finally got to see Footloose on its last day of the tour & we loved it We tried to see it in January when it began in Newcastle but there were no trains & the replacement buses weren't at suitable times but it was worth the wait. Max Milner, who played Ren, left a few weeks ago & Adam C Booth has been playing him. We know him from previous shows so it was great to see him in the lead role & we know the guy who replaced him, Gavin Alex. We know a few others who were in the show so it was lovely to see them all again. We would liked to have seen Matt Willis but he left in March. It was a very energetic show & we don't know how they could do it all again after half an hour break.
