We have been to see Monkee Business. It was lovely to see Stephen Kirwan & Oliver again & all the cast were great but we didn't think much of the first half. The storyline was very strange - there were Russian spies & nuns & the lack of set didn't help & in one scene the record producer came on as a pantomime dame There was a good scene with the Monkees singing a ballad together in harmony & there was a nice duet between Stephen & one of the lead girls. She kept declaring her love for Stephen but she turned out to be a baddie & got shot in the end. The second half showed a great improvement & it was good to hear the Monkees songs & some others. In one scene the guys wore stripey tops like in Canaan Days & then the girls came on in stripey tops & berets. There were very few people in the audience - we think that they must all have been up the road watching Phantom or the tickets were too pricey. We were going to see the show in Sunderland next week but it's been cancelled
