Reckless Entertainment today announced that Street of Dreams, a major live musical event in celebration of Coronation Street, will embark on a spectacular arena tour of the UK and Ireland after its world premiere at the Manchester Arena.
Starring faces from the UK's most famous street, past and present, and hosted by the country's favourite entertainer, Paul O'Grady, Street of Dreams will embark on an impressive arena tour visiting Dublin, Belfast, and Newcastle.
Street of Dreams is a live musical tribute to Britain's best-loved soap and will be staged with a spectacular recreation of the iconic TV set with outstanding visual effects. It will feature a 25-piece orchestra playing music by award-winning musical writer, composer and lyricist, Trisha Ward and is directed by Academy Award winning film and stage director, John Stephenson (5 Children & IT and Animal Farm). A dazzling West End cast will be choreographed by Olivier award winners Stephen Mear and Karen Bruce.
Paul O'Grady will feature as the star host, guiding the audience through momentous events in Corrie's history in his own inimitable style. He will encounter well-loved characters, old and new, with guest stars paying homage to famous roles, as he leads the show to a dramatic finale.
Julie Goodyear MBE will be making a highly anticipated return to play the one and only Bet Lynch, complete with her trademark beehive, big earrings and penchant for leopard-skin. Corrie favourite Kevin Kennedy, a singing star who has made a critically lauded name for himself on the West End stage since his departure from the cobbles, will return to his role as loveable intellectual stargazer, Curly Watts and the effortlessly brilliant Brian Capron will resurrect renowned serial killer, Richard Hillman from the dead.
