We have been to see Andrew Derbyshire & Jonathan Ansell in Bohemian Rhapsody which has premiered at Newcastle. It was a celebration of Queen music & was an amazing show. It was good to hear Queen songs which aren't in WWRY. It was great to see Andrew again as we haven't seen him for years. He was very flamboyant - at the beginning he came on in a black tail coat ( as did Jonathan) & a black top hat & later on he wore a black jacket with black feathers round his shoulders. When he sang "I want to break free" it made us think how good he would have been as Galileo, though we never saw him in the role. Jonathan wasn't in the first half of the show very much but he led the cast singing "Barcelona" in a very good operatic way at the end of Act 1 & they got a well deserved standing ovation. There were 4 male singers & 4 female singers in the show, 2 male & 2 female dancers & 5 band members on stage. It was a very energetic & fast paced show
We wondered if any of the cast would come out as there wasn't much time between shows. We chatted to one of the guitarists then Andrew & Rachel Wooding, who we know from other shows, came out so we had a lovely chat with them till we had to go for our train
