Which ex cast members have you seen in panto over the years? I've seen a fair few, its always great to see them in a show where they can get away with playing jokes etc hehe best one i saw was Richard in Dick Whittington in Wolverhampton, the last night was hilarious! He got completely soaked! lol

I've seen a few ex-cast in pantos. Saw Richard in DW and also Babes in the Wood in Hull. Simon Lipkin's panto (Snow White) in Swansea last Xmas was fab but Simon wasn't on stage for the first 40mins!!! Was worth the wait tho Simon Schofield in Sleeping Beauty in Wakefield. I'm getting a bit stuck now thinking back further than last Xmas, will need to go and look at my programmes, lol.

I would've loved to have seen Graham in panto but it was just to far to go I did go and see Shaun Dalton in Telford, and Arvid when he was in Glasgow. Ages ago I saw Mike Holoway in Newcastle, and more recently Darren in Sunderland.

Sad to say I thought Cinderella in Malvern was awful.
The script and effects were the same as I saw a few years ago. costumes were very boring. Cinderella's ball gown was a dowdy grey!!!!
The chap playing Cinders dad Baron Hardup appeared to be drunk. Forgot his lines a few times.
Shaun sang about 4 songs, I can only rememebr one "Your Beautiful" which he did very well, he has a lovely deep voice. I felt he was wasted in this production, he is too good for it.
The show was 15 mins late starting which mean it was also late finishing, thereby I missed my train which would have connected me nicely with my homebound train. The later train was held up due to a bridge bashing. Consequently then had to get a bus and travel for another hour to get home. Sent my husband a text when I was on the bus re dinner, when I got back home he hadnt heard his mobile as it was in his coat pocket, and he had been upstairs using MY computer. HMPF!!!!!
Little girl in front of me could not keep still, she was about 3 years old with her mummy and Grandma, who indulged the little brat far too much. First her seat was up then her seat was down, up down up down all the time grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. I do not want grandchildren. I shall never go see another panto again unless I do have grandchildren, cant stand all the racket. There was even a pre school group and babies on laps.
Perhaps I have been too spoilt seeing all the professional shows.
BAH HUMBUG.
Should have saved my money and gone to Whitley Bay or Cromer instead.
The above is no refleciton on Shaun. We saw him before the show and he happily chatted and posed for pictures. He will be looking for work in January.
Season's version to follow.

Yep have to agree with Lynda the panto in Malvern wasn't very good BUT Shaun did say before hand "remember IT IS the first one", maybe that's why he was so desperate for ciggies - he obviously knew what was coming!!
Lynda you forgot to mention how irritating the guy playing Dandini was. I couldn't sit through it again even if you paid me.
The Ugly Sisters were very odd and both had the same name at one point. It's a real shame as Shaun was sooooooooooo good as Beast in Beauty and The Beast.
As for the songs they were instantly forgettable - other than "You're Beautiful" the only other one I remember was "B U T T O N S" and he didn't even sing that!!
Definately nothing that sticks in your head like "I'm not dead yet" or "It sucks to be me"!!!

Dandini didnt bother me as much as he did you Season. I love I Am Not Dead Yet (Spamalot), never heard the other one from Avenue Q. Tjhe Ugly sisters were called Lily Madonna, and Daisy Brittany, bit the latter called herself Lilly Britanny hee hee. Sp we had two lillies, I like it when things go wrong.

Hi everyone, we went to see Trevor in his panto in Norwich at the weekend. It was a great show and Trevor was really good in it but wasn't in it very much. We had a nice surprise coz we discovered Philip James is in it aswell in the ensemble a lot!! So it was great seeing 2 people we know There is a review of this show on the BBC website www.bbc.co.uk/norfolk/content/articles/2006/12/18/theatre_review_cinderella_norwich06_feature.shtmlWe have also been to see Michael Quinn in our panto in Darlington, again he isn't in it very much as Dandini either but it was still great to see him Also we have been to see Darren Day in Billingham, he was good in the show and sang lots of pop songs
