Blue Jeans Jump & Jive.
Great time had by all ;D
Met Ant outside the stage door before we took our seats.
Woooo he looked so much younger with his hair cut really short
Yes I do have a photo.
Had middle of the front row so when he came on stage he was directly in front of me.
Woman next to me was singing along so I shushed her twice, she took no notice, and as Season had an empty seat the other side of her I moved to it. getting a dirty look from said woman apparently. So in the interval I went up to her and her and husband in the bar and said why I had moved. She wouldnt look at me. I explained that I pay to see those on stage not people in the audience. I was astounded by the fact she then cried, for goodness sake woman get a grip. If we are asked to sing along, fair enough, but if not, WAIT TIL THE END. How very rude/ Such was the nature of the show maybe the audience do sing a long, but if not invited to do so, DO NOT SPOIL MY EVENING.
Seeing Ant as a brother and sometimes Jacob in Joseph I didnt really ever hear him sing solo, obviously had seen him dance . But in this medley of songs from the past, got to see him dance many different ways. I have always thought how light he is on his feet when walking so I should have realised if he was going to be a fantastic dancer, so loose limbed and agile, skilled thoroughly amazing.
He was on the stage most of the time and lots of solos. "Raise Me Up" which nearly had me in tears and when he sang "No matter What" and "When You Say Nothing At All" that did it for me, had tears rolling down my face. I felt so proud of him, It was as if he was my own son. I hope his own mum and family have been to see him.
There was a medley from Grease, "Sandy", We Go Together" etc., and I felt that Ant would make a very good Danny. Nothing to do with his leather jacket of course.
There was a 4 piece band on the back of the stage, the guitarist sometimes doing a solo song, the drummer was the Director. Two boys and 2 girls the main singers. Ant was certainly the eye candy up there. Ants co male singer also did a few jokes, which I felt added nothing to the show - but maybe that is me,as I you know by now I dont think I have a sense of humour.
Lots of costume changes to go with the era of the songs.
Some country and western "Stand By Your Man" etc., which reminded me of "One More Angel" from Joe with the Yee Haaing and dancing
Some other songs from the west end. Fame, Mamma Mia, Boogie Nights, We Will Rock You .
The cast do signings and sell their dvd and cds in the foyer after the show, and as we had missed our 10.00pm train, we could stay a bit longer til our next one at 10.30pm. Station is only about 5 - 10 mins walk from the threatre.
I am ashamed to say I became a hogger of Ant. I usually say my piece get a quick photo and then stand back and let others have their turn, but last night I didnt want to let him go. I was duly told off, rightly so, by a cauliflower head (or part of the blue rinse brigade)waiting to speak to him.
Maybe it was because I didnt know when I would be seeing him again. Hopefully I will more thoughtful of others next time.
Ant is also involved in a cancer charity run, He is a model advertising it, I think he said Nivea ??. I need to get more details didnt quite take it all in at the time .
The cast do three shows a week, what a difference from 12 shows of Joseph.
Do go and look at the tour dates see if you can go see our lovley boy. Tickets are about £15. Shame there are no matinees or I would be going a lot more.
Still got silly grin on my face and my jaw aches !!!!!!!!
Thanks Ant for a great night.
Love
