Any Dream Will Do Winner Lee Mead looks like he might confirm his star status by going straight to the top of the singles chart this week.
His charity single, Any Dream Will Do, from Andrew Loyd Webber's hit musical "Joseph and his Technicolour Dreamcoat", could stop Rihanna from taking Umbrella to the top for a sixth week.
Rihanna currently has a slender lead over Lere of a mere 1500 sales.
HMV's Gennaro Castaldo said: " It's no surprise Lee should be vying to top the singles chart this week when you consider the massive TV audience that tuned in regulary to watch Any Dream, and how dedicated the programme's fans were to its contestants. If people made the effort to phone in their votes, there's every chance they'd also be happy buying this song, especially as it supports Children in Need."

www.thesun.co.ukA dream start for TV's Lee By SAMANTHA WOSTEAR July 07, 2007 ANY Dream Will Do star Lee Mead went down a storm in his Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat debut. The BBC winner had the audience clapping along and dancing in the aisles at the sold-out first night at London’s Adelphi Theatre. This glittering, all-singing all-dancing story appealed to young and old alike — and the disco finale brought the house down. Lee, 25, even had show writer Andrew Lloyd Webber staying to join in the final standing ovation.
