Saw this terrific show at the Dominion yesterday afternoon for the third time. There's something about a certain understudy currently covering the role of Galileo that keeps drawing me back there each time he's on He has so much fun on stage and with all the queen songs you can't help but join in.The understudy was on for Killer Queen, her voice wasn't quite as powerful but those in the roles of Galileo and Scaramouche more than made up for that. I'm already planning my fourth trip for August.I'm gonna need another purple glowstick by then. ;D ;D

We too were drawn to the Dominion on Saturday to see Jon Boydon play Galileo again & he & the show were great. The u/s for Scaramouche was on & we thought she was good. We have seen the show a few times when Simon Bailey & Scott Monello were in it.
We then decided to go stage dooring & went to Hairspray & saw a guy we know from Footloose. Ben wasn't there - we later saw him in the audience of IDA - but his u/s looked very nice.
Then we went to GWTW & got there just in time to see Gareth come out. He was with Chris Ragland who is also in the show & a nice American guy called Tom who has played Jo over there. They gave us the news that the show is closing on the 14th. Darius came out soon after that & was very charming - he is so tall & handsome!!! Fortunately he didn't ask us if we'd enjoyed the show. I would like to see it & go into the NLT again but I don't think I could sit through such a long show unless it was Jo of course. Darius said he is going to be working on his third album.
We then went to 2 places for Krispy Kreme donuts to take home but they were both shut so that will have to wait for our next trip to London, but a great day was had by both of us.

Do Anything's Tucker to Join We Will Rock You
Rachel Tucker, a former contestant on the television competition I’ll Do Anything, has been cast as Meat in the West End production of We Will Rock You. She begins performances at the Dominion Theatre on September 22.
Tucker received praise for her performances on I’ll Do Anything, though was not chosen as the winner of the program. The Belfast-born singer said of being cast: “It is a dream part. We Will Rock You is one of my favorite shows. I first saw it when I was a student in the Royal Academy and loved it. I am beside myself with excitement. I just can’t believe it.”
Also joining the cast of We Will Rock You is Ian Carlyle as tough-guy Britney and Garry Lake as Pop. The show continues to star Richard Alfonso as Galileo, Sabrina Aloueche as Scaramouche and Mazz Murray as Killer Queen.

Saw this show again on Saturday as a certain person was on as Galileo. ;D If I didn't already have plans for this weekend I'm sure I find myself back at the Dominion. Now its just been announced that the show is to tour next year and it's the summer show for Birmingham Hippodrome. ;D ;D ;D It's just a shame that certain person has just extended his contract to stay at the Dominion,so there's no chance of him being here with it next summer. Dates for Birmingham are 1st July to 5th September 2009.

I think you will enjoy WWRY Lynda, I hardly knew any Queen songs before I first went and yet it's one of my fave shows - I've seen it 9 times It's set exactly 300 years in the future and real music is banned and the rebels are trying to recreate rock music. Parts of it are loud but it's all part of the show. You'll never know unless you go!!

The words are changed slightly in some songs to fit in with the story but I think you;ll like it Lynda, it can be noisy but maybe on tour it wont be, I loved it and would love to see it again.

I booked for this yesterday......friends from Liverpool are coming with me as they haven't seen it either. It is loud with flashing lights in some places in the show at The Dominion and I had no interest in it at all until Jon Boydon joined the cast. I've been referring to him as understudy Galileo but as E&R have posted his name now I'll do the same. Have to admit I've only seen him in that role.I've no idea what the guy who actually plays it full time is like. I hadn't seen understudy Scaramouche before Saturday either but I had seen understudy Killer Queen before. I think it depends how loud the Hippodrome choose to have it but I wouldn't sit front row due to the huge screens they have at the back of the stage and the "beam" that rotates across the audience in certain numbers. "beam" is the only way I can think of to discribe it....it rises up from the stage and swings out over the front stalls.Killer Queen does her numbers on it with dancers. The nearest I've sat at The Dominion is stalls row L.I booked stalls row J yesterday at the Hippodrome. It's priority booking for friends members until September 15th anyway so you've got time to make your mind up Lynda.I seriously doubt I'll only be seeing it once. Oh and glowsticks are a must!!!!!

Ricardo is very 'squeaky' when he speaks! Great voice, just squeaky - having said that though Boydon's accent annoys me in the first half! Maybe I'm too fussy lol!

We haven't wanted to go to London since the cast change in September but we heard that Ross Hunter, the second u/s Galileo, was going to be on last Wednesday & we'd heard good things about him so we wanted to see him. He was fantastic - great voice, young, blond & very good looking (would make a great Jo) & he really fit the part. He had lots of friends & family in so there was lots of cheering for him. Richard Woodford, who is the first u/s Galileo, played Khashoggi & we got u/s Meat & Rebel Leader who were all very good. Kade was on holiday & there didn't seem many in the ensemble. We told Richard that we knew Kade from Jo & he said that he was in Jo in 1995 as butler & Gad with Phillip Schofield & he has been in Les Mis more recently. He said he was playing Galileo for the rest of the week. We left the theatre with the intention of getting Krispy Kreme donuts, but the tube wasn't stopping at Kings Cross because of a fire alert so we got off at Holborn & got a bus. I had visions of the main line station being closed & us not getting home for ages but it was ok & we got the train we wanted but we didn't have time to get donuts!!
