Morning all.
Well last night, hmmmmm, where do I start.
I was with Season who has seen Joseph at least 500 times over the past years, when we got to the Palladium stage door we saw Eunice and Roisin our other very regular regulars, glad you got to make it girls - and front row seats too!!! Hi to Moira and Jenna nice to have met you at last. New Joseph converts Annabel, Caroline, Kazzie, Trixie hobit were there too. I will leave it to these lovley people to tell you about who sung what.
As S and I walked to find somewhere to eat, I noticed Chris's mum Jane, Aunty barb, brother Nick and sister Lydia had a quickie with them, there were other family members but didnt get chance to say hi to them, so sorry about that.
Wasnt impressed with the Palladium from the outside I expected a far grander entrance. We asked at the box office for some money back seeing the tickets had been reduced to £10 and we had paid nearly £40 each with p&P, but were unsuccessful.
There was no programme.
The show started late and to my disappointment we had
a comedian/impressionist on named Craig Hill for the first half, then an interval. I did not pay to see him and was very cross. I prob would have enjoyed him another time and another place. But I was there to see my Joe boys.
When the 5 boys came on they got a good response. Women in the audience were taking photos. I got a wink off Chris Barton ah ah sweet. I have got my wrist in a splint so couldnt clap.
After singing The Boys Are Back In Town, they took off their scarves and threw them into the stalls.
Loved Chris B's ballet bit and Lewis's somersault flips
Seamus, Johndeep and Rob the builder joined the boys, so we had 8 Joe boys. No sign of Lee, Daniel, keith or Ben anywhere. If they were there I didnt see them. At the end Craig thanked everyone and got all emotional when he thanked BK for taking a chance on him.
Michael Barrymore and Connie Fisher were in the audience as were Bk and his wife Jenny. Anthony Andrews (Brideshead Revisited) was waiting outside the ladies so had a quick chat with him. he looked just the same as ever.
The show was being filmed from the dress circle, and some press took a few pics at the end of the show.
It was all over too quick for the cost of the ticket
As we were leaving the stalls I noticed someone had left their handbag so I handed it in to an usher.
By the time we got to the stage door, Johndeep and Rob had left.
I managed a few words with Kenwright - but he didnt seem to want to know, how rude when we advertise and promote his shows for love not money. I suggested when he next needs a new Joseph to have Richard Meek again.
Seamus was very good to people at the stage door and took an interest in them, he was very chatty.
The boys were happy to sign autographs and have photos taken with fans.
I have had about 2 hours sleep. Was wide awake when I got home at 2 a.m. When in bed my wrist was killing, my bunion was throbbing, my ribs ached and then I got cramp in my other foot arrrrrrrrrrrggh, I am getting too old for this lark. I should stick to matinees.
