Hi Lynda
my letter has been printed about Lee in Heat this week I was saying in my letter I was surprised lee did not walk out when they asked him if he wears a hairnet to bed, I asked them to print another photo of Lee and they have cruelly put him in a hairnet. Also the lady that printed my letter slagged of my pronuciation. she also put my surname as Barker when it is Baker you cannot win. I have sent a letter saying you did not have to slag my pronuciation of.

www.bromleytimes.co.ukMy Formula 1 experience as champ Lewis 07 November 2007 ASK any male in Britain which sportsman he'd most like to be right now and the answer is simple...Formula One superstar Lewis Hamilton. The 22-year-old speedster has gone from being a relative unknown to one of the biggest sporting personalities on the planet after coming within a whisker of winning the World Championship in a sensational debut season. With the help of Italian race giants Minardi, I moved a step closer to living the dream of the nation's newest sporting hero when I was given the ride of my life in the back of one of their special two-seater cars. The Minardi F1x2 team rolled into Brands Hatch for their final European appearance of the season and I was one of around 60 lucky passengers to experience the thrills and spills of the famous Kent raceway. After getting myself checked out by the onsite doctor, I picked up my overalls and geared myself up for three intense laps. I was already pretty nervous knowing that F1 cars reach speeds of up to 200mph, so upon discovering the track was slightly damp, I began to panic. The queue of riders seemed to sift down remarkably quickly, which becomes less of a surprise when you consider three laps take less than two minutes. As I was lowered into the chassis behind Austrian driver Patrick Friesacher, I knew there was no going back. My seatbelt was fastened tightly and the final safety measures were put in place before the car's booming engine growled one last time. Formula One's signature tune - The Chain by Fleetwood Mac - was now running through my mind as we shot out of the garage and onto the track like a bullet. After snaking round the first corner, we began picking up speed and I could barely believe my eyes at how hard we were breaking as we blasted away from Graham Hill Bend. But that was just the starter, it was now time for the main course, and we began our flying lap by hurtling down Brabham Straight. I didn't know whether to hold on tighter or whoop with excitement, so I just enjoyed the ride. It was thrilling, like a rollercoaster, only the chances of a fiery death were more likely - but that didn't matter. After completing the third and final lap I was in total awe of the sport, wondering how on earth a human being can control a car at that speed. Lee Mead, star of Andrew Lloyd Webber's West End revival of Joseph and his Technicolor Dreamcoat, was the day's celebrity draw - representing the HIV and AIDS help charity Mildmay. Lee was at Brands Hatch as part of a seperate competition event.
"It was unbelievable," he said. "It's a different kind of rush to performing on stage. It's about pure adrenaline.
"It's my first experience in a Formula One racing car and the speeds they reach are just incredible." He's not wrong. For further details on Minardi F1x2 see www.minardif1x2.com. Copyright © 2007 Archant Regional Limited.

www.newhamrecorder.co.ukJoseph's Dream girls shine 08 November 2007 Lee Mead is Joseph ANY dream will do for two schoolgirls who have seen their own fantasy of appearing in a top West End musical come true. Best friends Emily Simons, 10, and Molly Goodman, 11, talked their parents into letting them attend open auditions for the children's chorus group of Joseph and the Technicolor Dream Coat at London's Adelphi Theatre at the beginning of September. Emily's mum Paula, of New North Road, Hainault, said: "We saw the advert for the auditions in the paper so we rang up and went along. "They had to sing by themselves and in groups and I wasn't allowed in with Emily, so she was very brave! She was quite nervous, but she did it and they told her they'd email later that day. "Her audition was at 10am and they didn't email until 7pm so it was a long wait. They emailed her friend Molly first to say she was in, so Emily thought she hadn't got in and was devastated. But then her email came too. I'm so proud of her!" The girls' parents had to sign contracts and gain permission from their schools to miss the odd day - Emily attends Ilford Jewish Primary School, while Molly goes to Clore Tikva Primary School. Then the hard work began. The girls started training about five weeks ago with the Carmel Thomas Youth Singers, who practise at a school in Buckhurst Hill - they went for a three-hour session every day to learn all of the show's dances and songs. They performed in their first show on Thursday, and will appear in the musical every night on a one week on, one week off basis with another team of children. Molly, of Oakleafe Gardens, Clayhall, said: "I was really excited when I found out I was going to be in Joseph but I was nervous as well. It's hard because there were lots of songs and dances to learn and we have to know where to stand on the stage. And it's very tiring doing that every night and going to school every day, but I'm loving it. "The first time we did the show I was really nervous but I got more and more excited as it went on. The audience were screaming - it was really good! "My mum came to watch it on Saturday so I tried extra hard and she said she really liked it. "One of the best things was meeting Lee Mead who won the TV competition to be Joseph. We see him back stage and he talks to us and he's really nice. When we do matinees, we all go out to dinner. He didn't come with us but we all went to Nandos and he was asking us about that! Copyright © 2007 Archant Regional Limited.

Mead’s Joseph stays on at Adelphi First published 13 Nov 2007 Lee Mead as Joseph Joseph And the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat has extended its stay at the Adelphi until 18 October. Tickets for the new booking period will be available from Monday 19 November.
This production of Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice’s musical is a revival of the 1990 Steven Pimlott-directed production at the London Palladium. It opened at the Adelphi on 17 July this year after a high-profile televised search for a leading man in the form of BBC reality show Any Dream Will Do, which propelled winner Lee Mead into the famous Technicolor coat. Mead remains in the role of Joseph for the new booking period, alongside Preeya Kalidas as the Narrator, Dean Collinson as Pharaoh and Stephen Tate as Jacob/Potiphar.
The family musical is a colourful retelling of the biblical story of Jacob and his 12 sons, of whom Joseph is his favourite. After his brothers, consumed by jealousy, leave him for dead in the desert, Joseph begins a long, tumultuous journey that leads him to the court of the Egyptian Pharoah. Along the way the story features musical numbers including Close Every Door and Any Dream Will Do.
