Lewis as Joseph
injury so Lewis had the part of Joseph. it didn't spoil our enjoyment at all. All three children has a fantastic time they clapped and cheared after each song. Lewis could do with a bit more body weight and he looked better with out the wig but he was excellent. The children enjoyed it so much they have asked to go again!

Bright break for Lewis
Posted by Gazette reporter on November 2, 2007 1:02 PM | Permalink
THE amazing dream finally came true for Teesside singing star Lewis Bradley, pictured right below.
He slipped on Joseph’s coat of many colours — and stepped out to star on the West End stage.
The young Middlesbrough singer wowed his audience and then rang home to say: “It was brilliant. I can’t believe I’m only 18 and I’m the lead in Joseph.”
The big break for understudy Lewis came at yesterday’s matinee after TV reality show Any Dream Will Do winner Lee Mead had to cry off with an ankle injury.
That gave Lewis the surprise chance to take the star spot - months ahead of January when he will play Joseph for two weeks.
“I was an emotional disaster when he told me,” said mum Aranka.
“He’s been ready and waiting for the call - and now it’s come. This is an amazing chance for Lewis.”
The quick decision caught Lewis by surprise and gave family and friends no time to travel to London’s Adelphi Theatre to see his triumph.
Aranka and Lewis’s Nana Jean had to sit at home nervously in Nunthorpe willing Lewis to put in a faultless performance.
And they rushed to order a big bouquet to send their love to Lewis.
Said proud Aranka: “He rang straightaway after the show to say Andrew Lloyd Webber and producer Bill Kenwright were there and hugging him.
“They said he was as good as Lee and he told them, I want to be better!”
Lewis has been touring with musical show Chicago and Beyond and had only one rehearsal before taking over as the show’s lead.
“My son has really matured over the last year and I am very proud of him,” said Aranka.
She and loads of family and friends from Teesside are going to see Lewis in January when he is Joseph for a fortnight. He will also be taking the role when Lee’s on holiday in March and May.

Went to London on 19th and managed to see Lee in both HMV and Joseph so didn't matter that the weather was so awful, he made my day In HMV Lee looked nervous and don't think he expected the amount of people who turned up once he started to sing he settled down and his smile just lit up the shop, lots of men there as well, prob buying CD for Christmas pressies everyone who went to get their Cd's signed had a nice little chat with Lee and one of the security blokes was heard to say 'I cant believe this' as the queues seemed to get longer The show was brilliant, at start when dry ice comes up Lee choked a little and all the audience laughed, he could hardly keep a straight face My son and husband had both come with me and said how brilliant Lee was (better than they thought were their exact words) When Lee rises above the audience at the end I thought it was brilliant everyone in the dress circle gave Lee a standing ovation but the stalls were very quiet it seemed Just hope he doesn't pack in his acting for a music career as now he has established himself he will go from strength to strength

The following was seen on whatsonstage.com
19th January 2008 - Saw the show last week. I was in the front row of the Upper Circle. The view was fine, but the show was disappointing, my children enjoyed because they knew all the songs, so I'm glad we managed to go before Lee's holiday. It was quite hot and when a guy told an usher he didn't seem interested and did nothing to try to help. I tried to buy water and sweets during the interval, but the rude American in the kiosk said he was only serving people who had the right change!!! He was sending everybody else to bar to buy drinks. The bar was pretty busy so I went back inside with nothing to my children's disappointment. Lee and the cast were all right but the show is very dated and the set looks really cheap. The overall experience left me cold.

WHO KNEADS DENISE? Pal gives Lee massage on the beach By Sean Hamilton Showbiz Editor And Louise Ford 20/01/2008
It's a picture any girlfriend back home would be shocked to see - your man getting sun lotion rubbed into his neck by a blonde on a beach.
But Denise Van Outen has nothing to worry about because her boyfriend - Joseph star Lee Mead - is on holiday in Thailand with his personal assistant and best friend Jaime Barr.
Lee, 26, was devastated to discover he couldn't take a break from playing Joseph in the West End when Denise was free.
So the couple were forced to take separate holidays - but racked up huge phone bills speaking to each other while they were thousands of miles apart.
Denise, 33, went off to the Maldives with her best friend Sam Mann a fortnight ago. Now she is meeting NBC bosses in Los Angeles to discuss work.
Faced with a lonely trip, the Any Dream Will Do winner treated pal Jaime, 31, and her family to a two-week luxury Thai break.
A friend said: "Denise knows how close Lee is to Jaime and she's more than happy for them to go away together.
Generous Lee flew Jaime, her dad David and mum Georgina to Bangkok last Sunday, and stayed at trendy hotel Grande Majestic.
Three days later they went to Phuket where they have been soaking up the sun at the exclusive Laguna Beach Resort.
But Lee, who goes back to Joseph at the Adelphi Theatre on January 28, has been missing Denise and has been seen moping about on his own. A tourist said: "He's often sitting alone on the beach, deep in thought."
Cheer up, Lee, only one more week in paradise to get through...

"The rude Chinese " "The rude Jew" "The rude Muslum" "The rude Pakistani" "The rude Black" Racism, you really gotta watch out for it!

Not sure what you are getting at ? People have to be described somehow.

She did describe the person. The person was rude. That is a description. Why does it matter that they are American or any other race or creed or whatever. When you describe a negative aspect of someones character I don't think it is a good idea to attatch their nationality or anything else that could be interpreted has having a racist tone. Imagine if I wrote "This rude black person wouldn't serve me". I think most people would feel uncomfortable reading that. My concern is that I don't think most people would feel that uncomfortable reading "The rude American". I don't think there is any difference in either statement. They both have a suggestion of racism. It's not a big deal, just something to think about - that's all

Lovely review with a difference from ABs from the LMAS site.
16th April -what a wonderful day
What a day I’ve had. Suppose I’d better start at the very beginning, my son had a check up at Hospital this morning so months ago I decided I would combine a trip into central London a with a trip to Joe. I had arranged to meet Tiffy (Anne) and Ruth a little after 1.00pm near Café Nero.
So I arrive at Café N at about 12.15 and had a drink and a chocolate muffin, then because it’s lunchtime and there are people waiting for tables I venture outside to wait on the corner of TGI. Anyway, whilst I’m waiting (standing there texting various people as I don’t want to look like I’m waiting for Lee) Russell walks past and so does Tyman. I’m still on that corner when Lee strolls up Bedford Street and turns left into Maiden Lane. By now, of course I’m on the opposite side of the road so I just gaze from afar, however, he did get stopped at the stage door by a gentleman who he did spend a short time speaking to so I mustered all my courage (I had a beautiful picture that I wanted a proper signature on) and walked down Maiden Lane towards the stage door, but alas, he went in before I could reach him.
I figured I might be lucky as it was very early and he might actually come out later, so I waited for Tiffy who turned up soon after and we went to the Porterhouse for a drink, making sure that we sat outside – for obvious reasons.
In between going into the Porterhouse and coming out, all of 5 minutes, you know who arrived with her children in tow. Then I knew I’d have no chance with getting the photo signed, and whilst we were waiting, who did I see walk back into the theatre through the stage door but Lee. Didn’t stop at all, so I was a little bit angry, if the truth be told, because I would have had my chance, there was nobody about and I had spent the best part of a week psyching myself up to the point that I could actually ‘stage door’. Anyway, met Hezzy, her Hubby and son, who just happened to be walking down Maiden Lane from Covent Garden, on route to see Wicked and we stopped and chatted.
Then I saw James, now fortunately, although he won’t remember, I have met James before so didn’t feel too uncomfortable about approaching him. We had a little chat explaining that Lee was unlikely to come back out of the theatre and he knew exactly what I was talking about, so amongst other things like him telling us his future plans for a part in a touring production of a new play (no not Joseph, I did say new), although he did stress that no contracts had been signed yet so it was still early days, he said he would take the picture and get it signed by Lee and it was a good thing I asked because he had something that he needed signing and he had forgotten until I reminded him.
So James had my picture and by now Ruth had turned up so off we went to the Porterhouse again for some more alcoholic beverage and then it was time to see the show. A few mike problems for Lee during the 2nd half, you know the sound when the connection is not in properly and you get loud bangs (well that’s the only way I can describe it), but he coped well. Think the entire cast were on Pro-Plus today because bouncy is not the word I would use to describe the show, there are no words that correctly describe the enthusiasm the cast had this afternoon and once again we were treated to a brilliant brilliant show.
During the mega mix James winked at me and mouthed ‘at the stage door’. So at the end of the show myself, Tiffy and Ruth trundled round to the SD, buying a big box of assorted chocolate biscuits from ‘Eliizabeths’ (yes that is how it’s spelt) on route. I wrote a little thank you note on the front of the box for James and went to the stage door and drop off the biscuits and pick up the envelope, but the woman said that James had gone out already and there was no envelope for left for me. She was very sweet and said he wouldn’t be too long and would I like to give him the box of goodies myself. As I was leaving the stage door James was walking down Maiden Lane, waving at me with a white envelope in his hand, my heart was beating.
Anyway, I handed James the biscuits and he handed me the envelope. He told me that whilst Lee was signing the photo some of the wives mentioned how ‘hot’ he looked in the photo to which he apparently said ‘I do don’t I’. Anyway, I told James I was there tomorrow in Row A of the stalls and he said he would look out for me.
So now the adrenaline is pumping and I am on a total high, I see Russell walking towards us and I still can’t believe that I stopped him. I told him he is fabulous in the show and that I was there tomorrow and really looking forward to his performance again , he unfortunately said he is having some time off as he is getting married, how inconsiderate of him, lol. Then I mentioned that it was a shame because I was also there on Saturday for the matinee and it would be a very special performance for me and I would be sitting in one of the seats that Dean throws the scarf too. He asked me what I would be wearing on Saturday to which I answered, whatever I can find that is clean (he did laugh), then he said wear that top (pointing to what I was actually wearing today) as I’m gonna tell Dean to throw the scarf to the lady in the black and white top in the stalls as it is a special visit.
Then the 3 of us, Me, Tiffy and Ruth, wandered off to Nandos whilst dissecting our meeting James and Russell. I know Ruth went off to Avenue Q, Tiffy went home to Bristol and I went to SOM. I wish I had tried for a return for Joe, I would have had a much better time as I didn’t really enjoy SOM, although the scenery was brilliant, oh and the children were very good.

I saw the adelphi production for the 1st time yesterday! Here is my review...
Took my seat on the back row of the whole theatre, suprisingly a good view! Couldnt help but notice how the overture is the same as the tours. I do love it! I wish they had a CD with it on. we had Ffiona Reyes playing Narrator, she was amazing, I would like to see Jenna if she is only the understudy. Thought Lees entrace was absoulutley fab. For me the choir looked bored of it and they are not needed as there is such a large company, whilst in the touring version there is only 18 in the company so the choir helps. I thought the journey to egypt was very poor and alot better in the touring show with a sphinx and camel. After a fab ending to act one, I coudnlt waitfor act two to start. I was very dissapointed (and this is typical me) that the choir just walked on, it was very unproffesional. But the rest of the show was great! I was thrilled in the megamix when they came out in white so I could actually Identify who was who from the programme, you could do it a bit but not much with costumes on. And I Can't to not mention Lee when he (kind of) takes to the air, that was fab! After the show he came out the front door he was going to sign my programme next but then had to go! So for me Best Bit - Well best bitS, are when the narrator sung her first line Joseph (wow so powerful) and the whole of act two but act one was brill aswell! Worst bit - well Worst bitS are the choir (sorry guys) and the journey to egypt! Fab show though!
